This is an interactive intimate course limted to 15 seats for individuals seeking skills sharpening and concept refreshment.  The aim of the workshop is to focus on MI purpose and process emphasizing cultivating and nurturing the conversation for change.

Workshop objectives

Using MI for Rapid Engagement and Brief Interventions

This class is for the helping professional who has had MI training in the past year and now wants
to apply specific MI processes and strategies for brief encounters. You will leave this course with
the knowledge that you CAN make a difference in a short amount of time.

Intermediate Motivational Interviewing training is an intensive skill-building session. Participants are expected to arrive prepared to practice the skills that were learned in the introductory level training. If you are comfortable with the following concepts, you are probably ready for the intermediate level:

Motivational Interviewing: Deepening Your Skills

Using MI to Elicit and Strengthen a Client's Motivation to Change

This is a 1 day interactive workshop focused on using MI to elicit and strengthen motivation to change. Participants will practice strategies to deepen OARS skills and activate change talk. Working from an Evidence-Based Practice perspective, this Motivational Interviewing immersion will augment and enrich your existing MI knowledge base while building a stronger MI skill set.  Participants will learn about the Motivational Interviewing Competency Assessment (MICA) as a structure for MI conversations and have multiple opportunities to apply MI with volunteer clients.  The conversations will be recorded, coded with the MICA, then debriefed with coaching feedback to improve Motivational Interviewing skills.  The objective of this immersion workshop is to assi
