About The Workshop

This workshop will address the way humans change and participants will learn how to assess and develop strategies for creating positive change in clients with a wide range of diagnoses and presenting complaints. This workshop will teach motivational interviewing techniques that can be used to create the most effective assessments and treatment plans. Participants will learn the concepts of hope and confidence and their applications to various clinical populations. They will learn the Four Corners and 9 Strategies for building confidence using motivational interviewing techniques.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the connection between hope and confidence within the change process.
  • Recognize the four possible situations related to confidence and importance of the change and how this understanding impacts strategies used.
  • Learn nine strategies for evoking and building confidence in your client.
  • Understand how specific strategies can be used to help clients facing depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, addiction disorders and other lifestyle changes.
  • Find inspiration to strengthen hope.
