~Motivational Interviewing - Introductory Level

This is the first of three in the series which provides the opportunity to practice at every level and includes introductory, intermediate and advanced-level practice. Participants will have the opportunity to practice MI skills with the support of the trainer, using “role-play”, “real play” and experiential approach. Using presentations, videos and demonstrations, the trainer will guide participants in learning the important components of the spirit and skills for effective use of MI.

This 2-day workshop is an intensive introduction to Motivational Interviewing (MI). It will provide participants with an overview of the theory, principles, and skills of MI. Participants will be guided through a sequence of experiential exercises to explore and shape communication practices, and begin the process of increasing proficiency in MI. Learning activities will include: demonstrations, video examples, role plays, case studies, small group exercises, and significant participant practice with feedback.

NYC 2-Day Introductory Motivational Interviewing TrainingDr. Bukky Kolawole is hosting an introductory Motivational Interviewing (MI) training on Friday March 13th, and Staurday March 14th, at New York University's Translational Research Building. This training is appropriate for professionals/professionals-in-training who have had no prior or some exposure to Motivational Interviewing techniques. Training Description:

This is a two-day basic-to-intermediate motivational interviewing training designed for nutrition professionals. Other primary care health professionals will benefit as well. Highly interactive, small group workshop, limited to no more than 25. A mix of presentation, practice with partners, group discussion and short videos of counseling sessions.
