This hands-on interactive online training is intended for those who have already had some exposure, through an introductory training to the basic principles and skills of MI, and those who ideally have had some practice in the implementation of the skills in their client conversations.

This training will focus on fostering more advanced levels of practice, including demonstrations, small group practice with in-vivo coaching, evaluation of practice audio or videotapes, and further exposure to coding and supervisory skills.
In this course there will be a review of the underlying spirit, structure,and principles of Motivational Interviewing. This course invites and challenges students to look deeper, to do more complex reflections, and to give themselves more feedback. Participants will look at the skills that will help get clients to the ambivalence and the struggle. At the end of the course participants will Demonstrate and practice MI in action by applying MI in a live, recorded conversation.
A beginning and intermediate Motivational Interviewing training will be held Tuesday January 24 and Wednesday January 25, 2023, from 9a to 4:30p via Zoom. 12 CEUs have been approved for Ohio social workers, counselors and MFTs.
