This workshop provides basic and intermediate training in Motivational Interviewing concepts and skills. The Spirit of MI is covered in depth, as well as the micro skills and the four tasks. This training is a combination of lecture, discussion, demonstration and practice. The utmost care is used in helping participants feel comfortable in trying out new skills and responding to new concepts. Social workers, counselors and MFTs can earn 12 CEUs from the Ohio board.
In this course there will be a review of the underlying spirit, structure, and principles of Motivational Interviewing. This course invites and challenges students to look deeper, to do more complex reflections, and to give themselves more feedback. Participants will look at the skills that will help get clients to the ambivalence and the struggle. At the end of the course participants will Demonstrate and practice MI in action by applying MI in a live, recorded conversation.

A beginning and intermediate Motivational Interviewing training will be held Tuesday January 24 and Wednesday January 25, 2023, from 9a to 4:30p via Zoom. 12 CEUs have been approved for Ohio social workers, counselors and MFTs.
