Motivational Interviewing Competency Assessment (MICA)--Live Online 5 Fridays The MICA was developed to assess competence in MI and provide a quality improvement process for practitioners to cultivate their use of MI intentions and strategies. The MICA allows coders, coaches and/or practitioners to form easily digestible, structured, specific feedback along the dimensions of the MI intentions and MI strategies.
Using presentations, readings, transcripts, audiotape, DVD and group practice, participants will learn to recognize and categorize common elements of practitioner or clinician competence in Motivational Interviewing. Participants for this workshop should have experience in Motivational Interviewing and a desire to learn the MITI 4.2.1 for supervisory, training or research purposes. This course will include large group exercises and individual or small group coding practice.
