In this advanced, intensive 3-day training, proficiency in understanding Motivational Interviewing (MI) is assumed as a starting point so applicants must already have substantial familiarity and experience with Motivational Interviewing. The focus is on training and coaching skills toward teaching MI and to facilitate the learning of MI by others. This training does not focus on acquisition of proficiency in the clinical skills themselves.

This one day workshop will help participants build on Motivational Interviewing (MI) foundations toward increasing skillfulness. The session will focus specifically on practicing the selective and differential use of reflective listening for softening sustain talk and cultivating change talk.
This training , which has a prerequisite of at least four hours of Motivational-Interviewing training, will discuss further this effective approach in the treatment of substance abuse, dual diagnosis, and other challenging symptoms and provide participants with an opportunity to explore creative ways of integrating these approaches into an effective therapeutic intervention.
