Motivational Interviewing Practitioners' Playground: Stretching Our MI Skillset

This lively and interactive four session practitioners' playground will give us opportunities to work through a targeted challenge for each of the MI processes. We will work on navigating from discord to engaging, creating focus umbrellas to set the agenda, grapple with the fear factor in evoking motivation for change, and identify repairs for planning setbacks.

Advancing the Practice

We have adapted our usual one-day workshop for a virtual tele-conferencing format of four weekly two-hour training sessions. We will explore this effective approach in the treatment of substance abuse, dual diagnosis, and other challenging symptoms and provide participants with an opportunity to explore creative ways of integrating these approaches into an effective therapeutic intervention. Participants will be offered a brief review, and practice of, Motivational Interviewing spirit and some basic skills, and an overview of what's important.
