Motivational Interviewing Step 3 ZOOM

This course comprises 18 taught hours spread over 6 x 3-hour sessions over 4 weeks on ZOOM. There is also an opportunity to submit a recording of a client/patient session. It is open to people who have completed training at levels 1 and 2 who want to increase their fluency and mastery of this evidence-based intervention. Two of the UK’s most experienced trainers share the teaching and coaching of a small group. The programme is recreated each time to meet the needs of the current group.

Uplevel: Advancing Your Motivational Interviewing 

In this 12-hour advanced course, we dig into what it really means to use Motivational Interviewing to the level of fidelity. MI fidelity is the threshold of demonstrated skills required by providers in all of those amazing evidence-based practice research trials. And that’s what this advanced MI course is all about! Fidelity through practice!

Motivational Interviewing Practitioners' Playground: Stretching Our MI Skillset

This lively and interactive four session practitioners' playground will give us opportunities to work through a targeted challenge for each of the MI processes. We will work on navigating from discord to engaging, creating focus umbrellas to set the agenda, grapple with the fear factor in evoking motivation for change, and identify repairs for planning setbacks.

Advancing the Practice

We have adapted our usual one-day workshop for a virtual tele-conferencing format of four weekly two-hour training sessions. We will explore this effective approach in the treatment of substance abuse, dual diagnosis, and other challenging symptoms and provide participants with an opportunity to explore creative ways of integrating these approaches into an effective therapeutic intervention. Participants will be offered a brief review, and practice of, Motivational Interviewing spirit and some basic skills, and an overview of what's important.
