Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a person-centered evidence-based approach that provides a framework, skills and strategies for having effective conversations with people about making health behavior changes. This training is for current ASU Social Work students and professionals working in the field. It is designed as an introduction for new learners and a review for those who have not had MI training in the past 2 years.

Summary:
6-hour IN PERSON Motivational Interviewing training
Good day. I am offering a two day Motivational Interviewing training on March 26 and 27 via Zoom. The first day covers the relational aspects of MI with a particular focus on the spirit, which is integral to the practice of MI. The spirit helps us adopt a powerful and engaging heart set and mind set. On the second day, the focus will be more on the technical aspects of MI - learning skills to cultivate, elicit and respond to change talk. The combination of these two days helps you be both well intended and effective in helping people.
