Majella Greene, MINT Certified Trainer
www.majellagreene.co.uk
I am a MINT Certified Trainer with over 24 years of experience delivering Motivational Interviewing (MI) training and 30 years of applied practice across substance use, mental health, HIV care, trauma-informed services and private practice. I’m also a registered social worker and clinical supervisor, integrating MI to support team development and strengths-based supervision.
My academic background includes an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology, and I’m a member of the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA).
I served on the MINT Board of Directors for three years, where I led the development and launch of the Inclusion, Diversity, Access, and Culture (IDAC) Committee. I continue to champion equity and cultural humility in the design and delivery of MI training and mentoring. I have also supported the development of new trainers through the TNT process and regularly collaborate with global colleagues on evolving MI practice and pedagogy.
Expect interactive, thought-provoking courses delivered with joy, energy, and psychological safety. You’ll leave feeling confident, equipped, and motivated to integrate MI in a way that supports positive client outcomes and your own professional growth.
As a MINT Certified Trainer, I bring over two decades of experience delivering MI training rooted in compassion, cultural humility and practical application. My approach is interactive, energising and grounded in real-world practice across social work, mental health, substance use, HIV care, and trauma-informed systems.
I believe MI is not just a skillset but a constant practice towards awareness of real connection and change —with the potential to transform how we connect, collaborate and support change. As a former MINT Board member, I led the development of the Inclusion and Diversity Advisory Committee (IDAC) starting in Montreal in 2018 with Laura Hoge and Jesse Jones Berg. I remain committed to embedding equity and belonging in all aspects of MI training and practice.
My training spaces are psychologically safe, strengths-based and tailored to the needs of the people in the room. Whether you’re new to MI or deepening your existing skills, my sessions are designed to build confidence, curiosity and competence with a generous dose of joy.
