Come join us in Greenville, SC! The goal of this two-day training will be to introduce the most current information on MI that supports its efficacy as an evidenced based practice.  Grounded in the underlying spirit of MI, the four processes introduced in 2013 will be reviewed and their utility will be explored. Participants will have an opportunity to learn the basic skill-set needed for MI, the underlying spirit and building blocks, and how it may be utilized in a variety of settings. Role play and practice are a large part of this experience.

Motivational Interviewing 1: Skills for Behavior Change

This introductory level workshop offers health coaches and helping professionals the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of Motivational Interviewing and begin to apply them to their practice. In this 2 day interactive workshop, participants will learn by doing MI exercises in a supportive, small group setting.

During this four-week online workshop, participants will learn: the fundamentals of motivational interviewing, the core OARS strategies of the motivational interviewing process, ways to identify and elicit change talk, as well as strategies for exploring and resolving ambivalence. The learning process is varied across several modalities, to maximize your opportunity to familiarize yourself with motivational interviewing as it can be applied in your practice.

This is a two-day basic-to-intermediate motivational interviewing training designed for nutrition professionals. Other primary care health professionals will benefit as well. Highly interactive, small group workshop, limited to no more than 25. A mix of presentation, practice with partners, group discussion and short videos of counseling sessions. Also included is a pre-workshop on-line program. 18 CEUs for Registered Dietitians.
