I am the first member of the MINT community whose focus of MI and MI training is on environmental changes. Specifically my work is the application of behaviour change sciences to help people take on new environmental behaviours that stop climate change.
As a person I'm an organizer in Toronto's LGBTQ+ community. I organize the largest LGBTQ+ board game night in the city of Toronto with an average of 60-100 attendees. As part of this work I am now happy to share I am working on building blind and visually-impaired inclusive gaming. This inclusive design work is being piloted in my event, and in collaboration with visually impaired members of the community.
As an MI trainer I work with environmental activists, leaders, and concerned community members to integrate MI principles into their communications repetoire. A core focus of my training is to help environmentalists find their capacity to use reflective and affirming statements in place of science-focused fear points and behavioural advisement.
