I joined MINT in 2005 (Solvang, CA TNT) and have provided MI training to interprofessional groups of health care providers. My nursing career has been in pediatrics with training as a Pediatric and a Family Nurse Practitioner. My PhD is in educational and developmental psychology.
I retired (December 2022) from Boston Childrens' Hospital (BCH) where I served as a faculty member for the Boston LEAH Program (Leadership Education in Adolescent Health) in the Division of Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine and was a Co-Investigator on two federally funded studies that incorporated the use of MI with adolescents in the areas of substance use and reproductive health. For much of my career I was an educator, having held full time faculty appointments in the Schools of Nursing at Boston University, Boston College, and Northeastern University, as well as having appointments at Harvard Medical School (Pediatrics) and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (Dept. of Social & Behavioral Sciences).
