About Me

Mohammad Rofiqul Islam, or Royal have been working last 25 years with Hijra, transgender and diverse Gender community in Bangladesh.   Running them own project called “Artivism and Sexuality”. Art is the best medium to provide knowledge about SRHR including HIV with gender diverse community including trans sex worker.  Royal believes on skills and internationality and the reasons Royal started works using different medium, combination of training, counseling, art work therapy and photographs exhibition.”Pandemic & HIV” is the part of that creation. During COVID attack Royal ensure support to PLHIV and at risk transgender community to create a digital network for ensuring HIV services.

Royal was played an important role and design logos for first ever Hijra Pride in Bangladesh. Royal is closely working with national HIV program and National Human Rights Commission in Bangladesh.  Royal has abundant experiences in international health and human rights, dance performances, photographic exhibitions, and presentation in 20 countries. Royal holds a Master’s degree in sociology and anthropology from Asian University of Bangladesh. Currently Royal working with ZE Project to creating enables environment Hijra, transgender and diverse gender community inclusion in the workplace /labor marker.
