Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University. I have approx. 25+ years of experience as a social worker/counselor/psychotherapist working with behavioral change, including addiction and treatment adherence in a variety of settings. I have provided MI supervision in both clinical and research settings.
Licensed to practice clinical social work/psychotherapy at the independent practice level in the State of Texas (LCSW), Washington State (LICSW), and New York State (LCSW--inactive status). Board Approved Social Work Supervisor State of Texas. Trained in MITI Coding 2014 and 2018.
I have done MI training for individuals with education levels ranging from high school graduate to Ph.D. in both clinical and research settings. The beauty of MI is inherent in its applicability to a variety of settings, situations, and interventive techniques, and the capacity of trainees from extremely diverse backgrounds and with wide-ranging levels of academic training to learn and apply Motivational Interviewing. I consider it a privilege to be an MI Trainer.
