Hi, I'm John Seivert, a physical therapist living and working in Grass Valley, California. I’ve been a PT for 43 years. In 2001, I founded Body Logic Physical Therapy, an outpatient practice that grew from 2 to 7 therapists. In 2023, I sold the practice to one of my colleagues, allowing me to shift my focus toward what excites me most—teaching.
I now spend most of my time educating physical therapists locally and nationally in the fine art of Motivational Interviewing (MI). I was first introduced to MI in 2017 and have been studying and practicing it ever since. In 2024, I completed the Training New Trainers (TNT) program in Christchurch, New Zealand, and attended the MINT Forum, an experience that deepened my commitment to the MI community. I continue to attend the Forums as they are vital to my ongoing growth and learning in MI.
I’ve taught MI in a variety of formats—half-day Zoom sessions, in-person workshops, and multi-hour presentations designed to inspire the spirit of MI in healthcare. Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, I plan to offer multi-day trainingsto help healthcare providers become more present and attuned with their patients, fostering genuine change in their lives.
