More About Me

About Me

I live in NH and am a person in long-term recovery from problematic substance use and have a daughter who is in recovery as well.  I founded family support groups in 2014 and helped form SOS Recovery Community Organization and have been director since 2016 with 3 recovery community centers and a staff of over 20.    I became interested in Motivational Interviewing back in 2017 and was introduced to fellow MINTie, Stephen Andrew, who  helped us develop some trainers, became a mentor to me and also assisted with building a curriculum for those we serve. I've also had the opportunity to learn through classes with another MINTie, John Gilbert, and the Institue for Individual and Organizational Change (IFIOC) including training in coding with the Motivational Interviewing Competency Assessment (MICA).  I've also trained under Denise Ernst, PhD in  Motiviational Interviewing Treatment Integrity (MITI) coding and coaching.

Trainer Statement

We operate 3 recovery community centers in NH and we've developed numerous trainings for peer-assisted recovery and recovery coaching.  SOS is a NAADAC education provider for a number of classes including a Motivational Interviewing:  The Basics for Peer-Assisted Recovery. Our services are non-clinical and all peer driven. Our organization operates a statewide program offering peer-assisted recovery and recovery coaching to individuals involved in the criminal justice system under a subcontracted Dept of Justice grant.    We are involved in supporting individuals incarcerated, on probation and in drug courts.  We provide a comprehensive community care coordination as well with those experiencing homelessness and are dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion in all of our work.  We offer workshop based trainings for basics and advanced and include coaching.  We've trained over 200 peers in the last 2-3 years and I've also been trained in MICA coding and we now are encouraging proficiency by inviting those who we train to include coaching and coding into our workshop trainings.  Feel free to reach out if you'd like to discuss how we can collaborate and support you or your organization.
