Jemima Neddy Organ has a Ph.D. in Organization Information Learning Science (OILS) from the University of New Mexico, USA. Her emphasis was on Adult Education & Professional Development (AE&PD) and Instructional Design. Jemima has over 26 years of experience in the mental health profession and is also a licensed professional counselor candidate (LPCC) in Colorado. She is an active Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) member. Jemima integrates her counseling skills with adult education and professional development. Her dissertation was “Motivational Interviewing: A Tool for Servant Leadership.” She was trained, coached, and is being mentored by Dr. William Bill Miller, the father of Motivational Interviewing.
Jemima has over 15 years of experience in training, mentoring, coaching, and counseling and over five years of mid-level management experience. Jemima has successfully worked as an instructor and training consultant in Kenya, the Middle East, and the USA. She honed her Organizational Development skills in the OILS program for six years in the USA. While in Kenya, Jemima actively advocated mental health issues in the community and initiated writing the psychological bill to acknowledge counseling as a profession in Kenya. Jemima also initiated a behavior change program for youth (in a faith-based organization). The program is now in six African countries due to her active training and mentoring of the leaders. Her dissertation topic was “Motivational Interviewing: A tool for Servant Leaders” This has become her area of focus as a community educator.
