I help leaders and organizations change together, effectively, and without losing their humanity in the process.
With over 20 years of experience guiding mission-driven organizations, I blend behavioral science, change management, motivational interviewing (MI), and complementary approaches to communication to help teams move from disconnection to alignment, and from good intentions to real impact. I help my clients move beyond top-down messaging to co-create change with those who may be skeptical or disengaged.
I am the Founder of MI for Health, a consultancy grounded in the belief that better outcomes start with better conversations. I have trained thousands of professionals seeking to improve the health and well-being of their patients, clients, and communities in how to engage others in change with more clarity, courage, and connection.
I have served as a trusted advisor to organizations including the State of Illinois, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the University of Nebraska Medical Center, MIT, and the Institute for Healthcare Delivery Design.
In addition to my training in MI, I am a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner a faculty member with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and hold a Master’s in Education from Harvard University.
I believe that Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a core competency for anyone seeking to lead change.
Creating change at scale starts with creating change in conversations. MI is the most evidence-driven method that I know for how to do this effectively and responsibly.
I provide accessible and skills-focused training, coaching, and advisement to help learners use MI to lead change in their organizations, clients, and communities.
