I am from Western Australia and am a registered psychologist with a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology. I have 25 years’ experience in the alcohol and other drug (AOD) field in WA and have worked in a clinical capacity within outpatient, detoxification and residential therapeutic community settings as well as providing AOD clinical supervision and program coordination and delivery. I currently work for the Mental Health Commission (which took over the Drug and Alcohol Office recently) in the Workforce Development branch which provides training, resources and workplace and organisational support to agencies that work with people affected by AOD use. I also do some private one-to-one and group clinical supervision for AOD clinicians.
I have worked as a trainer, initially for the Drug and Alcohol Office (now the Mental Health Commission), since 2005 providing AOD related training. I have a particular interest in training clinical skills/issues and provide Motivational Interviewing training to a wide range of health professionals on a regular basis.
