I received my Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University Chicago in 2012. I am currently working at Rush University Medical Center on the Substance Use Intervention Team. I provide individual psychotherapy to individuals with a substance use disorder and other co-occurring psychiatric conditions. I am a core faculty member for the Rush Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program where I teach motivational interviewing to fellows in the training program. I also provide MI lectures to psychiatry residents and students in the Master of Nutrition program at Rush University.
I have experience and interest in mindfulness-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy.
I am passionate about teaching MI to groups from a wide variety of backgrounds. My teaching style is collaborative. I utilize both didactic lecture and experiential exercises. I offer beginner and intermediate trainings.
