I am a licensed professional counselor, addiction specialist, and training supervisor based in rural Alaska, where I support behavioral health organizations through training, clinical consultation, and workforce development. My work focuses on motivational interviewing, substance use treatment, integrated behavioral health, and building sustainable systems of care in remote and underserved communities. I enjoy partnering with multidisciplinary teams to translate evidence-based practices into practical, culturally responsive approaches that fit local contexts. Whether facilitating workshops, coaching clinicians, or consulting on program development, I strive to create engaging, collaborative learning environments that reflect the spirit of motivational interviewing and strengthen the capacity of the behavioral health workforce. Outside of work, I love backpacking, time with my dog, and reading historical fiction.
I love creating learning experiences that reflect the spirit of Motivational Interviewing. My approach to training emphasizes partnership, acceptance, compassion, and evocation, inviting participants to learn with one another through conversation, practice, and reflection. I believe training is most impactful when people feel psychologically safe to experiment, make mistakes, and discover their own learning. My hope is that participants leave not only with new skills, but also with renewed confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm for using MI in their work.
