Dr. Menges is a licensed clinical psychologist in Pittsburgh, PA specializing in addiction treatment and MI training. Prior to establishing his own practice, Dr. Menges served as a staff psychologist at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center and worked directly with veterans struggling with addiction, mental illness, and homelessness. While on staff at the VA, Dr. Menges was a trainer and consultant for the MI/MET evidence-based psychotherapy initiative and in this capacity he trained and supervised fellow VA clinicians committed to learning MI. His supervisory work also included teaching and training first-year medical students as well as providing an intensive 6-month MI rotation for psychology pre-doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows.
Since joning the MINT in 2014, Dr. Menges has provided high-quality MI trainings to organizations large and small across various industries and disciplines, including: primary care, general mental health, outpatient and residential substance abuse treatment, community mental health, and corrections. His training style is energetic and highly interactive, integrating didactics, demonstration, and experiential excercises.
