Greetings from coastal North Carolina!
I am a psychologist, clinical supervisor, and mother of a toddler who is passionate about helping people find their own motivation for change, growth, and evolution. I became a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) in 2025, after many years of integrating MI into my clinical and supervisory work. My experience with utilizing and training MI spans a range of settings, but I've long held a particular focus on supporting and training professionals working with justice-involved individuals and those experiencing substance use disorders. I am committed to fostering compassionate and collaborative conversations that promote empowerment and self-determination in the professionals I train and those they welcome into their offices.
As a trainer I strive to create fun, engaging, and reflective learning environments where participants can explore the spirit and skills of Motivational Interviewing in meaningful ways. My training approach emphasizes warmth, curiosity, and respect, encouraging learners to comfortably integrate MI into their own professional roles. I have a special interest in training supervisors and leaders in using MI as a framework for guidance, feedback, and organizational change, as well as supporting practitioners who work with justice-involved populations and individuals with substance use disorders. My goal is to inspire confidence and compassion in those learning MI so that they, in turn, can inspire change in others.
