His background includes clinical work in crisis stabilization, respite services, partial hospitalization programs, and outpatient therapy. They've also working in marketing and communications for employee assistance program (EAP) training services. Alex is a heartfelt public speaker, clinical content creator, and training facilitator who is passionate about psychoeducation and exchanging helpful knowledge and community resources with others. Originally from Hartford, CT - Alex currently resides in Springfield, MA and when not wearing direct-care service or training facilitator 'hats', he enjoys singing, participating in community theater, listening to music, watching movies, attending concerts, musicals, and comedy shows, and spending time with partners, loved ones, friends and of course his two DARN CATs.
I believe communion, a depth of intentional attunement with others, is essential for effective communication and community cultivation - learning communities and otherwise. I also believe that learning should be fun, joyful, person or audience-centered and a sustainably life-long journey. My style of facilitation is adaptable and improvisational to the wants and needs of various learners and subjects. Cultural humility is a core value for me as both a teacher and learner. My approach is warm, mindful, transparent, encouraging and evocative - with just a hint of humor and theatrics! I like to consider myself a good balance between earnestly sincere and the silliest of geese :)
I feel I've done my job well as a fun & friendly facilitator if I leave people feeling uniquely seen; having enjoyed their time, more confident in their knowledge, skills and innate wisdom; and excited to continue learning with compassionate curiosity!
