I am a clinical psychologist specializing in MI-CBT. I am from Tianjin, China. I have since translated the simplified-Chinese editions of Building motivational interviewing skills: A practitioner workbook (2nd ed.)，Motivational Interviewing and CBT，and Fundamentals of Motivational Interviewing. In 2020 I joined the Chinese Association of Motivational Interviewing (CAMI) and helped launch the Chinese-Mandarin MITI translation project. I also began delivering MI trainings and outreach in Mandarin. In 2023 I founded the Chinese Motivational Interviewing Community (CMIC; www.cmic-mi.com). Since its inception, CMIC has run monthly MI practice groups, book clubs, and topic-sharing sessions without interruption. I am now honored to be translating the fourth edition of Motivational Interviewing: Helping People Change and Grow into simplified Chinese, nearly complete. I currently engage in MI practice, training, supervision, and integrative MI-CBT psychotherapy. I focus on MI’s uniqueness within a Mandarin-speaking context, its use throughout all counseling sessions, MI-CBT integration, and its application in university counselors’ conversations with students.
