I received my Master of Arts degree in Social Work at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, where I was first introduced to Motivational Interviewing. MI guided my work as a clinical social worker and program manager of the Substance Use Intervention Team at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, an interdisciplinary addiction medicine service based on an SBIRT model. In that role, I lead MI trainings and 1-on-1 coaching for healthcare professionals and medical, pharmacy, physician assistant and social work students, residents and fellows. In July 2023, my family and I relocated to Palo Alto, California.
