Opportunity to help improve new AI training for MI use in HHS - compensation provided!

Hello, colleagues and friends!

I'm reaching out about a new project my colleagues and I are working on: a Motivational Interviewing in Health and Human Services training with immediate, performance-based feedback. With our industry partner (Lyssn.io), we're creating engaging didactic MI learning content, paired with realistic patient HHS specific vignettes for immediate practice opportunities.

We’d like to invite MI trained clinicians, providers, or trainees to respond to the training’s simulated patient scenarios and receive $100 in compensation for your time, or $200 if you are a provider with multiple years of experience teaching, training, or consulting for MI. We estimate it will take users 45-60 minutes to record responses to all simulated patients.

Compensation will be provided in the form of a digital Visa gift card

What's involved?

We will ask you to complete a brief demographic questionnaire prior to using the training platform, so that we can pay attention to how inclusive our group of clinical experts are. We will not ask you to disclose any personal or identifying information while recording with the training’s simulated patients.

Then you will view a brief video of training content and brief written content focused on a specific skill, followed by a video vignette of a simulated patient (i.e. an actor). You'll respond to the vignette verbally, as you would with a real client, and your response will be recorded. We’ll ask you to record 2-3 responses per each vignette. These responses can either be a slightly different example of the skill or you can do a basic MI response and advanced MI response.

Your verbal responses will be transcribed and scored by Lyssn’s in-house human coding team. We will use these scores to train statistical models to identify target MI skills and give directed feedback to learners. The more examples the models have, the better they are at identifying target skills. This data will be used solely to inform targeted training feedback to user responses.

If you're interested, please fill out this interest form (https://forms.gle/RBQXcLKAJGUMsQBz7) and Lyssn (roisin@lyssn.io) will follow up with you via email shortly.

Thank you for considering this opportunity!

Hello Alyssa, I was contacted by a co-occurring treatment provider in Baltimore, MD that is exploring the use of simulations to support MI skill development.  Would you have any recommendations for platforms and/or facilitators that are expert in this domain? Best, Gretchen
