Leaders and managers need to share information. It’s not optional and it’s not always subject to permission. It’s their responsibility. It’s a different need than we may be used to hearing, but it deserves the same respect as any need a client might bring.

About this course

Coaching and practice can sharpen your Motivational Interviewing skills. If you have had some exposure to MI and want to learn how to do it well, or brush up on your skills, this meeting is designed for you. Participation in the session is limited to 6 students or less. In the session, you will practice your OARS skills, see MI demonstrated, learn through role-play, and get feedback from an experienced practitioner/trainer in the art of Motivational Interviewing. Join Alicia Shiver, MA, LMHC, LADAC, and MINT member and others as we review and practice motivational interviewing skills! There will be no more than 8 people in each group to ensure that participants have an opportunity for direct observation and feedback.

Activities vary during each group and will include a variety of live demonstration, group practice with feedback, coding, and skills activities.

Earn 1.5 CE hours accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA)
