English As a Second Language
We welcome applications from individuals who have English as a second language. While you must have basic English skills to participate, we do not expect people who speak English as a second language to be fluent/proficient, or be able to practice at a professional level using the English language. In addition to application forms, we require a role-play demonstration of your MI skills, but we are prepared to adjust the interaction based on your level of comfort speaking English, and we take this into consideration when reviewing your demonstration as well.
This year we have a special program focused on Bilingual Spanish and English speakers. Although the main workshop content will be delivered in English, we will have a diverse team of co-trainers (coaches) who are fluent in Spanish that will lead activities and offer other support in Spanish. We are requiring that Bilingual applicants complete their standardized patient interview (SPI) in Spanish, so they must be fluent in Spanish in order to apply and have preference as a Bilingual applicant.

The standard fees are $200 USD for applications and $995 USD for registration by those who are approved in the application process.
