Motivational Interviewing: Help Students Change
This is a 3-hour introductory training at the American School Counselor Association Conference. It is intended primarily for educators. The price below reflects a one-day pass to the conference. Here is a description from the promotional materials:
Do you ever feel like you are more committed to positive change in students’ lives than they are? Do
you ever work with students to devise a great plan to improve their lives only to find they don’t follow
through? Oftentimes, students don’t make positive changes because they are not fully motivated to do
so. Like everyone, they struggle with ambivalence. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based
counseling style that counselors can use to help students grow their own motivation to make positive
academic, social/emotional, and college/career changes in their lives. Learn practical techniques to help
students change their future trajectory. In short, learn to motivate!
