I received my MSW from the University of Washington in 2012, and am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in WA State. I have worked in the field of adolescent mental health and youth substance use prevention for almost 20 years. I have been a learner and practitioner of Motivational Interviewing for 15 years, with sub-specialties in SBIRT in schools, Tobacco Cessation, and Motivational Enhancement Therapy for adolescent cannabis use.
I work with a number of local, state, and national public health programs focused on policy, systems, and organizational changes addressing risk and protective factors for youth substance use- with a focus on K-12 education.
As a trainer, coach, and consultant, I strive to be authentic, empowering, and disarming. My training and coaching focuses primarily on school and youth-serving systems.
I enjoy collaborating with others, especially those interested in Implementation Science and Organizational/Systems change in schools, juvenile justice, and youth behavioral health treatment. In addition, I am interested in the intersection of Motivational Interviewing, Restorative Practices, and Trauma-Responsive Care.
