I started off in the field working at a hot-line crisis center that used Relationship Enhancement Skills for over 4 years. I then graduated in 2000 from The Pennsylvania State University with a Master's in Counselor Education with an Emphasis in Chemical Dependency. I immediately got a job in Local Mental Health in NC until 2008. From 2008 to 2011 I worked in private practice and now work for an LME. I have sat on the board of the local domestic violence agency, volunteered at Hospice and have done trainings for these agencies, our EMS/Rescue Squad and then trainings in general to the public.
I like to have fun at trainings and try to make them as interactive as possible. MI, through real-plays and exercises, is very interactive and fun to learn allowing for the best way to learn and to retain the information.
