I am a 60-year-old Hispanic male residing in Santa Maria, California. I am married and the proud father of three daughters. I work full-time at Community Solutions, Inc. as a Trainer and Quality Assurance Coordinator. Outside of work, I enjoy riding my Harley-Davidson along the California coast and attending Los Angeles Dodgers games. I am deeply passionate about Motivational Interviewing and feel truly honored to have been accepted as a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT).
I began my deep dive into Motivational Interviewing following my initial training in 2013. Early on, I recognized that this style of communication did not come naturally to me, which motivated me to intentionally challenge myself through MI coding and ongoing skills practice to strengthen my proficiency. Over time, I became a strong advocate for Motivational Interviewing within my organization, helping to develop and implement in-house trainings in collaboration with experienced MI trainers. Today, it is both an honor and a privilege to be a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and to facilitate trainings for my organization as well as probation departments across the country. I am deeply committed to sharing this evidence-based approach with practitioners who are open to learning, growth, and meaningful change.
