I am an Occupational Therapist, Poet, mother of three and life-long traveller who has been using Motivational Interviewing since I graduated in 1989. I have a Masters of Arts (Research) in which I explored the ways scary stories featuring monsters may empower young people (and the inner young person in all of us). I live in Brisbane, Australia and have lived in Portugal on the island of Madeira, London, Glasgow and Suffolk.
I have spent my career supporting people in the areas of mental health, addictions, trauma, physical health, pain, disabilities, neurodiversity and social and emotional wellbeing. Over this time I have supported workers, teams and organisations to learn and apply MI to promote personal, professional, clinical, organisational and community goals. I thoroughly enjoy sharing the practice of MI through training and supervision, whether it's in person or online. I am committed to optimising access to MI by adapting it for those with diverse needs and integrating MI with activities, creative writing, Sensory Approaches & Trauma Informed Care.
