I am a Western Australian living on Noongar boodja country. I completed my Post graduate Diploma in Counselling through the Notre Dame University in Fremantle 2006. I spent most of my professional career working with young people firstly in the public High School and subsequently the WA Juvenile Justice systems. My time working with what often was complex presentations for young people and by extension the family system, has led me to my current work as a Senior Workforce Development Officer in the WA Mental Health Commission. We provide training, resources, workplace, and organisational support to agencies that work with people affected by AOD use. Motivational Interviewing informs so much of my work and is foundational to my training practice.
I have worked as a trainer in some capacity for over 12 years and prior to my current work at the WA Mental Health Commission I was a team leader providing entry level training for the WA Justice System. I currently deliver several training packages as part of a team, which includes Trauma Informed Care & Practice, Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD), Emotional Regulation, Suicide Prevention, Co-occurring Mental Health/AOD issues and of course Motivational Interviewing.
