I am a licensed dietitian-nutritionist, retired from my full time position at Douglas Mental Health University in 2020, and then was invited to be the nutrition care consultant to HLS Therapeutics Inc. devoted to monitoring people taking Clozapine. I provide presentations to healthcare professionals and client groups and individuals embracing MI as a catalyst to delivering content in a way that honours autonomy and self-determination for those living with schizophrenia.
Clients with food insecurity, experiencing the side effects of psychoactive medication with difficulties with food selection and preparation are some of my specialties.
I would like to assist dietetic students and newly graduated dietitians in the application of MI skills to enhance their client / patient connection.
