My name is Maria Gylling and I live in Sweden, in a suburb to the
capital of Stockholm. I am 47 years old and have worked as a therapist/counselor with
substance abuse for about 12 years. I have a master’s degree in social work and treatment
and I am also trained in Family-focused therapy (FFT). I now work with young people
(age 12-25) and their families, with substance use. It can be a challenge to meet young
people who are not always motivated to make changes such as stop smoking Cannabis
and MI has been a great help in this motivational work over the years. I have been training MI to social working students and to social workers.
