I earned my Master of Social Work (1999) and Doctorate of Social Work (2015) from Aurora University and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, hold a School Social Work Certification, as well as a School Administrative Certification. I began my career in 1999 and worked as a school social worker for 10 years. As a Clinical Therapist at Linden Oaks Hospital in Plainfield, IL for 11 years, I began giving Mental Health presentations in 2009. In addition, I was a Mental and Physical Wellness Therapist at Waterford Counseling Services where I counseled and ran physical/mental health groups. I was an Adjunct Professor at Aurora University and University of Illinois, as well as Assistant Professor at Lewis University. I have been employed at the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana since 2016, now as the Assistant Director of Field Services. I have presented over 100 trainings to health professionals on topics such as MI, SBIRT/MI, IM+CANS, Hospital to School Transition, Adolescent Depression and Suicide, Depression and Suicide in Grundy County, as well as educational presentations to police departments on topics of Non-Suicidal Self Injury and Mental Health Overview. I look forward to additional contractual opportunities to train and support organizations in Motivational Interviewing.
