Lately, because of the corona pandemic also offering an internet based distance MI e-training. He has been an author to many publications for use in Sweden and chapters of Motivational Interviewing in several Swedish and international books as well as research articles.
I was first exposed to Motivational Interviewing (MI) in 1985 and in role play caught by the way counselor language shaped client respons. In my work with inmates at a prison I experienced that my use of MI helped in consultations with clients. Since then I have practiced MI, done research on MI effectiveness and on how to learn MI. I have trained MI in primary care, correctional staff and university students. I feel honored and lucky to be a part of the MI development in Sweden and internationally.
