I work in a busy women's health clinic, providing SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referrral to Treatment) services. Most of my conversations with patients center around health issues, including nutrition, exercise, medications, smoking cessation, and alcohol and substance use. MI allows me to partner with patients in an open-hearted and respectful nature as they work to make difficult changes, improving their lives, and like a ripple in water, affecting the lives of their children for the better. I do believe human resiliency in the face of overwhelming and disheartening adversity is a miracle; I will always be grateful for the experience of witnessing the strength and optimism of our patients.
Currently my training is limited to my workplace.
Please call me if you'd like to participate in our MI Learning Community. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month in Milwaukee, WI. We ask that participants complete an introductory training before joining in the fun.
