I am a British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) accredited CBT therapist and a Trainee Clinical Psychologist. I work mainly in primary care mental health in the NHS. My background is working in IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) services and in University mental health. I also hold a MSc in Applied Neuropsychology, and have an interest in the assessment and management of brain injuries and neurological conditions. As well as my NHS work, I work with the training organisation Halley Johnston Associates Limited (HJA) who specialises in the Psychology of Communication and Behaviour Change. We offer training and consultancy services throughout the UK, and have worked extensively throughout the UK. Our company ethos is to provide quality, evidence-based services to help practitioners provide the best support possible to their clients. We focus our training in two linked areas: Behaviour Change and the analysis of Communication. Our philosophy is to make training applied, realistic, challenging, and yet safe. At Halley Johnston Associates Ltd we combine an honest, open, and strength-based approach to delivery with highly qualified and experienced clinical staff.
I am a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and have delivered training and consultancy on Motivational Interviewing for the past six years. I undertook my MINT training in 2019. As part of HJA, I offer bespoke Motivational Interviewing courses and consultation to a range of Professionals working directly with clients. I have specific experiences in the areas of primary care and secondary care mental health, drug and alcohol services and neuropsychology.
