Denise Barnes is a licensed therapist, life and health coach, clinical supervisor and trainer who has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including oncology, cardiac rehab, community mental health, elder care and psychiatric hospital settings. Her private practice provides life work counseling for those who wish to create more meaningful work, health recovery after a life threatening diagnosis. Her office is in Boulder, Colorado, and she also works over the phone and online with groups and individuals. She has conducted MI trainings for health care professionals in Colorado since 2008.
Denise Barnes is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, and has been conducting beginning and advanced trainings in MI since 2008 for Health Professionals, including MDs, PAs, RNs, Patient Navigators, Social Workers, Counselors and Therapists. She also offers telelphone based webinars on simple ways that MI can help therapists, coaches and those in the customer service areas to improve service delivery and communication with coworkers as well as clients.
