More About Me

About Me

I am an accomplished Program Director and child welfare professional with extensive experience leading family child care network operations, provider support, staff development, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives. I specialize in translating complex regulations and program requirements into clear policies, practical workflows, effective training materials, and accountability systems that strengthen services for children and families.

My professional expertise includes trauma-responsive practice, Motivational Interviewing, the Safe & Together Model, and strengths-based family engagement. I have experience conducting multi-site program assessments, identifying systemic and practice-level gaps, and developing actionable recommendations related to child safety, staffing, supervision, service delivery, documentation, and overall program quality.

I am a thoughtful, relationship-centered leader who balances empathy and collaboration with clear expectations and accountability. I work effectively with providers, staff, families, leadership teams, and community partners, including when navigating sensitive concerns or guiding teams through policy, compliance, and operational changes. I am committed to building equitable, responsive, and effective programs that honor the dignity and strengths of children, families, and communities.

Trainer Statement

I am an engaging and collaborative trainer and workshop facilitator with expertise in Motivational Interviewing, trauma-responsive practice, child welfare, family engagement, and program leadership. My facilitation approach is grounded in the belief that meaningful learning occurs when participants feel respected, included, and supported in connecting new concepts to their professional experiences.

The Spirit of Motivational Interviewing guides both what I teach and how I facilitate. I create learning environments that honor participants’ knowledge, strengths, autonomy, and lived experience. Rather than positioning myself solely as the expert in the room, I work in partnership with participants, using curiosity, reflection, and thoughtful dialogue to draw out their own insights and motivation for growth.

I model Motivational Interviewing by using the skills to encourage meaningful participation and deeper learning. Through realistic scenarios, demonstrations, guided practice, and supportive developmental feedback, I help learners strengthen their ability to engage others setting aside their judgment, explore ambivalence, recognize change talk, and support individuals in identifying their own reasons and pathways for change.
