Cheryl Martin has a BSN in Nursing, MA in Psychology and 46 years of experience as an RN. She has a Trauma Certificate from the University of Buffalo, School of Social Work. She is a Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor and a NYS OASAS Certified SBIRT trainer. Cheryl is a member of Motivational Interviewing Network Trainers since 2004 and a Motivational Interviewing Assessment Supervisory Tools for Enhancing Proficiency trainer for the NIDA Blending Initiative. Cheryl has 15 years of managerial experience guiding and caring for both adolescents and adults on an OASAS inpatient rehabilitation unit. As well, Cheryl has coached and supported the Monroe County Nurse Family Partnership as they seek to build trauma responsive services and motivational interviewing skills that strengthen new mothers’ parenting and enhance infant/toddler health and development. Cheryl has developed curriculum and delivered training and/or coaching to schools, human service and health care providers on a variety of topics including: trauma and trauma responsive services, motivational interviewing (MI), person-centered planning, parenting, co-occurring disorders, and substance use disorders. Cheryl is currently working as an Integrated Health Trainer and Clinical Consultant for Coordinated Care Services, Inc. Prior to CCSI/MCOMH, she served as Nurse Specialist at Catholic Family Center and as Manager at Park Ridge Chemical Dependency Inpatient Rehabilitation for substance use disorders.
