Brief Introduction to Motivational Interviewing: Monday, May 12 from 10 AM ET - 2 PM ET VIRTUAL with Marian Frick Rigsbee, LCSW, MAC
This four-hour training is designed for those who are new to Motivational Interviewing (MI) and those who are seeking a refresher. This could be a good choice for you if you are a therapist, social worker, peer counselor, graduate student, or healthcare worker. In this experiential and didactic training you will learn the fundamentals of MI with a variety of case examples that apply to your work. We will explore the relational and technical components of MI including the Spirit, emphasizing autonomy, change talk/sustain talk, open questions, and reflections. We will review research supporting MI as we move through the content. There will be group discussion, and breakout rooms. All training material will reflect the newest edition of MI, Motivational Interviewing: Helping People Change and Grow by William R. Miller and Stephen Rollnick (2023). Updates from the 3rd to 4th edition will be highlighted.
To receive a free certificate of completion (4 units)/CEU learners must attend the full session and complete a training evaluation. Because I am an approved CE provider by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, I require audio and video to be on for this training. Four continuing education credits are offered for free to licensed Indiana practitioners and this can be submitted to your professional board for reciprocity in states other than Indiana.
Cost: $79 (early bird special before May 1), after May 1: $89. Pay by Venmo, Paypal, or check.
