Union Square Practice Presents: Virtual Motivational Interviewing Training with Dr. Jonathan Fader

During this day-long introductory Motivational Interviewing (MI) training, participants will learn the theory, principles, and fundamental OARS skills behind MI and practice the technique, style, and spirit of MI through presentations, videos, and demonstrations. This comprehensive workshop is hosted by Union Square Practice, a premier mental health practice in New York City co-founded by Dr. Jonathan Fader. Union Square Practice is known for its expert team of mental health professionals dedicated to making psychological support accessible and impactful across diverse fields. 

Who Should Attend
This day-long introductory MI training is appropriate for professionals and professionals-in-training who have had no prior or some exposure to Motivational Interviewing techniques. Individuals whose work involves helping clients achieve behavior change, including Psychologists, CMPCs, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Physicians, Nurses, Case Workers, Outreach Workers, Dietitians, Therapists, Clergy, Personal Trainers, Coaches, and Probation/Parole Officers, will benefit most from this training. All participants in the seminar will have ample opportunity to practice their MI skills through "role-play" and "real-play," with the help of a standardized client (an actor trained to play the client and provide participants with feedback following the interview).

There will be a one-hour lunch break and several 10-minute breaks.

About Dr. Jonathan Fader
Dr. Jonathan Fader is a Motivational Interviewing trainer and is part of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). He trains internationally on M.I. He is a co-author of the book, Coaching Athletes To Be Their Best: Motivational Interviewing in Sport.

Dr. Fader is a licensed clinical and performance psychologist. He is known for his work with the The New York Mets and The New York Giants as well as with first responder groups such as The New York City Fire Department (FDNY). Dr. Fader is the co-founder of Union Square Practicee and SportStrata, a mental health practice and sport psychology practice in New York City. He leads a team that brings MI and other psychological approaches to life for individuals, teams, and professionals dedicated to personal and professional growth. This training is an opportunity to learn from Dr. Fader and the USP team, enhancing your skills and deepening your impact with clients through Motivational Interviewing.
 
The cost of the training is $400 for professionals and $250 for students.
