Intermediate Motivational Interviewing (En) – Online
In this Level 2 workshop, which, because of the pandemic, will take place online over 4 half days (see below), you can advance your Motivational Interviewing (MI) practice to deepen your effectiveness as an MI practitioner. You will learn additional tools and focus on “change talk”, as well as other strategies, with an interactive, experiential learning approach. This workshop is tailored to the group’s MI skills needs.
Objectives:
- Expand your understanding of MI principles, its spirit and basic tools;
- Develop greater skill in using these basic tools, particularly complex reflection, which will permit you to direct your clients toward their change goals;
- Acquire additional strategies to help move clients towards their change objectives;
- Exchange with other practitioners;
- Deepen and put into practice specific parts of MI that pose challenges (content will be adapted to participants’ needs).
Prerequisite: Must have proof of completion of at least 12 hours of a basic MI workshop in the last 5 years
Accreditation: 12 hours of OPQ continuing education credits
