This Motivational Interviewing introductory training is a 100% online, self paced course covering the concepts, skills, processes, techniques, and strategies of Motivational Interviewing. Continuing Education credits for certain professional groups are available.

In this online class, you will learn:

The core skills of MI and more importantly, how to use them to elicit your clients motivation.

You’ll learn how to give your clients information and advice that they readily accept and act on.

You will learn how to engage your clients, focus on a topic, evoke your client’s motivation, and have your client commit to a change plan.

It should take about 15 hours to finish the 13 module course, which includes short, animated videos, exercises to download and post-tests to take as well as two 90 minute online sessions with Dr. Matulich. By the end of training participants should have a good understanding of what MI is, have learned and practiced the skills, and be ready to begin to use MI with clients.
