Foundations in MI (4 hours each): 9/9/24, 9/16/24, & 9/23/24 10AM-2PM CT
This is a 4-session training course. Each session will be 4 hours for a total of 12 hours of training time. In this training, you will learn practical application of foundational MI concepts and approaches that you can implement immediately. These approaches assist in efficiently and effectively developing rapport, meeting the participant/client where they are, and supporting mandated and voluntary participants/clients toward behavior change.
At the conclusion of this MI training, learners will be able to accomplish learning objectives:
- Define and describe Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Match the four concepts of the MI Spirit with their definitions
- Identify change talk in demonstrations and/or role-play
- Define and describe the difference between change and sustain talk
- Demonstrate partnership and empathy in role-play; or identify them in demonstration
- Define and describe the use of Reflections, Open-Ended Questions, Affirmations, and/or Summaries
- Apply MI approaches to participant/client situations
- Create a plan to integrate knowledge & skills at work
Certificate of Attendance provided for all. Free CEUs available upon request in the final evaluation for Indiana & Wisconsin (US) which can be submitted to your licensing board for approval in your state.
